- music video editing is responsive to the music
- continuity techniques are not as strict as in films. They can be incomplete and lead to unusual paths- i.e. a disjunctive shot order.
- reative visual disjunctive shots put emphasis on the music, lyrics, and themes rather than the narrative in the visuals of the music video.
- MV's (music videos) are about the composition of the shot rather than the content.
- conventional film shot order and distancing is much more relaxed in MV's. It is more about the music forms and patterns.
